You deserve a swift and beneficial resolution!

Roberta Vriesema

Roberta started RJ Mediation Services out of a passion for people, particularly people experiencing intrapersonal conflict. Throughout her 20+ years serving communities and organizations in conflict resolution, team development and negotiations, she has been recognized as the best at not only connecting people but also drawing connections between things that aren’t easily understood or recognized. She listens deeply and asks the uncomfortable questions in order to identify the root of issues.

Roberta pursued her mediation certification in Ontario as a complement to her psychology education, crisis and distress counselling training, and experience in high crisis workplaces. She studied Conflict and Mediation through Conrad Grebel - one of the eldest and best known leaders of Peace and Conflict Studies in Canada - at the University of Waterloo. Through mediation, Roberta engages in alternative dispute resolution for businesses and organizations. She isn’t afraid to challenge people to look at a situation differently in order to bring about reparation and restoration.

Roberta holds membership in both ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) and ADR Institute of Ontario (ADRIO). She maintains their ethic standards and approaches to Mediation.

About the Mediation Process

Enlisting Mediation Services is a voluntary process that is entered into willingly by all participants in order to find a mutually beneficial resolution. It is my pleasure to guide the process that will lead participants toward their own decisions.

The process of Mediation is a legitimate way to resolve legal disputes yet is an alternative process. Due to significant precedence, what is discussed, shared and disclosed in the Mediation process - because of your commitment in the Agreement to Mediate, will be held outside of the legal process. A Mediator does not keep notes of your Mediation, once it is complete, and cannot be subpoenaed to speak to what is disclosed during Mediation. You, likewise, agree to this when entering into a Mediation. Confidentiality is expected and remains a key priority in the Mediation process.

The process will involve respectful sharing of perceptions and experiences, and the assessment of each parties’ needs and interests.

Parties MUST attend all sessions as outlined and participate in good faith.
